On May 20, someone added Walter Payton to this list. I reomoved him, however his name has been added again. Can anyone confirm that Walter Payton was a Kappa? Pettiebone 19:55, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

He is not a Kappa so stop adding him Pop4any1 18:24, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Someone posted a note that Mayor Wilson Goode is not a Kappa. I think this is incorrect, because I found a website that shows that he is active in the Philadelphia Alumni Chapter. Global Achievement in Politics

Please add the name of the Honorable Nelson B.A. Bascome Jr., Justice of the Peace, and Member of the Bermuda Parliament, to the list of Politics. Brother Bascome is an iniatiate of Alpha Iota 1977. He was first elected a Member of Parliament in 1989, and has continued to serve since that time. This Brother has topped the polls in his constituency in 1989, 1993, 1998, 2003, and 2007. In fact in 2003 and 2007 he had the higest percentage in the country.

Brother Bascome has served as Polemarch of Bermuda Alumni, and is still active, making it a reality to host the Eastern Province Meeting in Bermuda in 2008. The title of Honorable was bestowed to him by the Queen of England (Bermuda is still a colony of England). His Party the Progressive Labor Party has been in power since 1998. He served as a Cabinet Minister for Health and Family Services from 1998 until 2003. He presently serves as the Minister of Health since 2007. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.228.160.146 (talk) 20:43, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Kasim Reed

Can someone please add Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed to the list? The following link confirms his membership into the fraternity. Thanks.

Rear Admiral Ken Carodine

RDML Carodine is a Naval Academy graduate. USNA does not offer fraternities. He IS NOT AND NEVER HAS BEEN a Kappa — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.242.79.224 (talk) 12:01, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

It is true that RDML Carodine is not a Kappa and that the USNA does not offer fraternities. However, there are USNA graduates that are Kappas, having pledged either in graduate chapters or in undergrad chapters before attending USNA. Also be aware that there are some other Black Greek organizations that do initiate students at USNA. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.57.18.28 (talk) 14:03, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

Adding retired Vice Admiral Edward Moore to list

I know that retired Vice Admiral Edward Moore is a Kappa and is active in the Riverside Alumni Chapter and initiated as an undergrad at Gamma Upsilon — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.150.86.2 (talk) 19:23, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

Former NFL Wide Receiver Perry Kemp

Hello,

I attempted to add former NFL Wide Receiver Perry Kemp to the list, and my unfamiliarity with the formatting caused me to inadvertently delete two fraternity members. I received a message about it so I assume that they were added back. I apologize for the mistake. Perry played for the Cleveland Browns and the Green Bay Packers from 1987 through 1991. I was told that I need a reliable source to list him. The only one that I have is Perry himself and I do not have any current contact information for him. I do not know him well, but did meet him briefly many years ago and he told me then that he was a member, having pledged when he was a student at California University of Pennsylvania in the early 80s. He also had a Kappa Alpha Psi license plate holder on his car. I came across this page yesterday and thought I would add him to the notables list of fraternity members. I just assumed that you would verify his membership by checking with the school where he pledged. If that's not your practice, then never mind. Thank you!

@Rury281: Thanks for your diligence. Wikipedia is a volunteer effort which has a rule against original research. Information included must be verifiable, so that anybody can check and make sure it's correct. For those reasons, contacting the school isn't practical, and wouldn't be usable. I looked online for sources, but did not find any. Many fraternities publish periodicals and directories that might list that info, but I don't have any of those. If some ambitious member of the fraternity is willing to do the research and add a section to the Kappa Alpha Psi website listing notable alumni, that would make this much easier (hint hint), but that's not what Wikipedia is set up to do, so this isn't the place to host that info.
