Iranian football[edit]

Why is a gap between 1978 and 1989 ? They start quite late to play a national league, it was before a regional competition ?--Alexiulian25 (talk) 09:09, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

Hello, I'm a newbie, so I hope I match the standards.

Anyway, "Local League" is not the proper expression since teams from all parts of Iran took part in this competition. "جام منطقه‌ای" ("Jaame Mantaghe-ei") is to be translated as "Regional league".

By the way, there were also local leagues like in Tehran, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tehran_Province_League was one of them.
