Creation
I started the page, with the list I found on the Beta Theta Pi page. I hope this is alright with all editors. Jmlk17 01:32, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Possible Factual Error
The Sigma Phi Society at Union College has been in continual existence since 1827. This means that the Beta Theta Pi chapter at Jefferson College is not the oldest continual fraternity in the country. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.70.113.107 (talk) 18:55, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
Another possible error, the Jefferson/Washington chapter was originally two chapters that were forced to merge into a single new chapter or shut down, therefore they are not a single organization. The oldest continuously running Beta chapter is the DePauw chapter, founded in 1845, as it has never been shut down nor been merged with any other chapter of the fraternity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 163.120.70.10 (talk) 04:21, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
Adding Sources
Hello fellow wikipedias,
As Beta Theta Pi evolves and changes through the years, I wanted to make some adjustments to sources for chapters/colonies as to when The Beta Theta Pi (official magazine) announces chapters/colonies. This is editing that I wanted to ask for permission before editing as the references being added are from different issues of the same magazine.
Are there any comments/concerns?

I think that adding source information is fine, and The Beta Theta Pi Magazine is a fine source. Of course all sources, including The BTP Magazine, have their errors and omissions. I have certainly seen conflicting date info in the fraternity's official publications. So I think any and all authoritative sources are important. I guess the question is how to handle contradictions, which I'm not sure how to efficiently handle on a Wikipedia page.Milst1 (talk) 22:08, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
