To do[edit]

* North Carolina State University is in Raleigh, North Carolina. North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is in Greensboro, North Carolina. Neither one is in Durham. Henrymrx (t·c) 02:54, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
* North Carolina Central University, however, is in Durham, North Carolina, not Greensboro, North Carolina Jackhill (talk) 18:22, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Theta Tau Chapter, University of Texas at Arlington, is an *active* chapter. It was rechartered on August 18, 2013. Source: personal records of the then Region VII Director. Additional reference should be available in an issue of the Torch & Trefoil. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Corob1968 (talkcontribs) 07:07, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

naming conventions[edit]

The general naming convention to use when referring to cities is the write out the full name of the state (e.g. Easton, Pennsylvania and not Easton, PA; Easton, PA is actually a redirect to the Easton, Pennsylvania article). Dr. Cash (talk) 02:39, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I decided to stay with the two letter abbreviation because the city and the state abbreviation were in separate fields in the document I started from and when i first built it, I had one wider spreadsheet with the Chronological and Geographical data in it and I was trying to save space. (Sort of scary when your documents *start* on the high side of 70K). Now that they are split and the Geographical is unlikely to expand due to further research, I'm less worried about the size gain of using the two letter abbreviation. Now, I would like to see them stay consistently City and State, I don't think going to just city for the AP Stylebook exceptions, Atlanta, Baltimore, etc. would look very good in this table.Naraht (talk) 04:38, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lists[edit]

So, why do we have multiple lists here? I can see keeping IGs and PGs out of the chapter list, but it seems... cumbersome to have a geographical list AND a chronological list. Maybe there's something I'm not considering here? Justinm1978 (talk) 23:25, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that it is extra work to maintain both. When I first did this, I attempted to keep all of the data in a single table, but *really* didn't like how I had to abbreviate things to keep all of the information for a given chapter on a line that could be seen without having to scroll left and right. For example, look at Psi chapter at University of California, Santa Barbara. Trying to squish down the columns to include the city and state would be just about impossible, and even if all that is added is Region and Section, it still looks even more mushed.Naraht (talk) 15:10, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
