Different Format[edit]

The formatting on this is a mess, it mostly just tells the various members of the band from certain eras, many times showing five or six guitarists that never played together. Either a section needs to be created for each incarnation of the band, or a chart showing each member's time in the band, like many other artists have. 99.54.88.194 (talk) 20:34, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I know this article is a mess with the disjointed tables, but this is how it already was when I cut and pasted it from the main article and dragged it over here. I'll straighten it up soon. wikipediatrix 22:50, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ummm... Im an Alice Cooper fan, and I have almost no interst in his "personnel"... does that really deserve the largest most prominent link on his template? Glen 00:08, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

wow, this is a mess. cleaned it up a bit. Kingevil (talk) 22:04, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The problem with doing 'incarnations' is the fact that it didn't really work that way, other than with the original "Alice Cooper Band". Some of these guys were just there for recording, while others were there for live performances - with some being just for a 'leg' and others for entire tours. It is not quite the same working as part of the Alice Cooper Show like it is for other groups. Alice Cooper is more like a solo act that has musicians backing him, not an actual band. Other than Alice Cooper, himself, every member of the show can be replaced at any point in time without missing a beat. They are not an integral part of the show. No one is paying to see anyone but Alice.
I put the names in alphabetical order within their eras - so that they are at least somewhat organized, rather than being randomly listed within their eras.
And someone else has made a timeline (grouped by instrument) which can help you see who was in it together by lining up the colored bars.

Eric Singer[edit]

Is it accurate that Eric Singer is an active member? He is also an active member of Kiss. J04n (talk) 03:09, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

eric is not the current drummer. eric plays on and off depending on his schedule with kiss. the current drummer is jimmy degrasso. Kingevil (talk) 22:04, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

UNDO/EDITS 01/13/2016[edit]

  • Rick Marty is listed solely as Mad Dog later in his Cooper run. Which is why it should be noted as a nickname or stage moniker. I've seen it spelled both ways - MadDog and Mad Dog. It is a play on his birth name, which is why the one-word with double d is prominent.
  • Fred Mandel was the keyboard player who played guitar on a few songs. Keyboards should be listed first because it was his primary instrument.
  • The same can be said about Bob Ezrin. Drums should be listed after his keyboard instruments because his drum work was secondary.
  • Bob Ezrin, Bob Ezrin, and Graham Shaw: yes, listing the "specific brand" is important due to the specific job that each did. It is different than, let's say, a Les Paul and a Stratocaster, which are both simply an electric guitar - but you would specify who played electric/acoustic/bass/12string. There were multiple keyboard instruments being played at the same time, it is important to note who played what because of the different parts each was responsible for. Some were musical instruments, some were sound effects.

Plus, let's face it, Wikipedia is all about the verifiability of information. When the liner notes state "Roland Jupiter" and "Fender Rhodes" separately, and do not say "keyboards", we are justified to do the same.

And THAT is my thoughts on the matter. If there are specific rules on Wikipedia regarding these topics, that is a totally different scenario.

Session and Touring Members[edit]

The timeline is massive and contains many extra individuals who do not need to be represented. Should all session and touring members be removed? DCollins95 (talk) 22:25, 2 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
