Change name of the entry[edit]

Hello. The entry in Italian wikipedia "Torre della Lanterna di Genova" has changed name to the more appropriate "Lanterna di Genova" (see the discussion of that entry - in italian). I think also this entry should be changed accordingly, and keep the current "Torre della Lanterna" only as redirect. 151.21.197.154 (talk) 07:33, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am the same anonymous that wrote before. Now I have an account. I'm going to rename this page if there isn't any objection. I just have to wait to become a autoconfirmed user. Since this is English wikipedia I think the right name is "Lighthouse of Genoa" Mad Toad (talk) 23:30, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lighthouse of GenoaLantern of Genoa – The original Italian name for this lighthouse is "Lanterna", which means exactly a lantern. This building (a symbol of Genoa) is traditionally known with this name and there is no reason to translate it in a different manner. There are several lighthouses in Genoa, but only one Lantern. --Relisted. George Ho (talk) 04:16, 6 October 2014 (UTC) Enok (talk) 12:14, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Seems to be officially called "Lighthouse of Genoa" in English: [1].Dekimasuよ! 06:51, 12 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. This particular lighthouse is the primary meaning of Lighthouse of Genoa, which is its common name in English. The redirect from Lantern of Genoa addresses any possible confusion. Andrewa (talk) 10:38, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
