Suggesting name change, here. I don't know if it's some medical board recommendation to call the ligament the "ligament of head of femur", but when I google that term vs. "ligamentum teres femoris", I get about 3x as many hits. That is pretty unscientific, but I'm wondering why this ligament should be known by a name other than the traditional latin name? Rhetth 20:35, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In most cases, we tend to use the english translation of the Terminologia Anatomica as the name of the article, and include the Latin in the infobox in the right. However, there are some cases where the latin is clearly preferable (as with most of the muscles) and some other cases that are borderline. In those cases, online medical dictionaries like the one at eMedicine can be useful as "tiebreakers". However, in many cases it takes some shuffling back and forth to get to the best name for an article (for an example, see Talk:Epinephrine#Responses_to_RfC). If you are confident that the Latin name would be better for this article and want to move it, feel free to move it to the new name.
