and consumed alcohol in moderation[edit]

I agree with the scientific fact but the way in which a sentence is framed here makes it look like promotion of alcohol. The sentence is as follows: ".........and consumed alcohol in moderation had an 82% lower rate of diabetes". I would request experts to give their opinions here.
