Interesting article mention's LiNK[edit]

This rather interesting Guardian article on Shin Dong-hyuk's life and his escape looks like it may be useful ?? EdwardLane (talk) 13:37, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

LiNK's Limitations/Criticisms[edit]

The article omits any discussion about the effectiveness of LiNK's operations. As a "grassroots" organization, the individual fundraising efforts are small and segmented. LiNK has been able to raise a significant amount of funds this way, but there should be discussion about how the central organization can more effectively equip and support individual efforts. Additionally, LiNK mainly focuses on changing the lives of individual people, but it's effect on a larger scale have yet to come to fruition. Obviously this is a complicated process that will take time, but LiNK's focus on "research and strategy" is not as robust as it's fundraising efforts. Views from experts, on how LiNK's efforts abroad can actually help facilitate change within in the country would be beneficial to this article. And as with any non-profit, a detailed breakdown of their financials will be key in determining the legitimacy of this organization. Having a brief overview of how LiNK's money is used would greatly add to this article. Stephanieham1 (talk) 15:33, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

LiNK put up their 2012 financials recently and pages 27-30 have a quick breakdown of their cash flow: http://libertyinnorthkorea.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/LiNK_2012_AnnualReport.pdf

Point of View[edit]

This article sounds more like a copy+paste of the organization's website than a neutral description of what it is and what it does. It even links to the Facebook page and blog under "Publications" rather than important publications themselves, which makes it seem like an advertisement. The diction is curiously reliant on positive adjectives and many of the facts presented are not cited except by the organization itself. Can I add a POV tag? (Sorry, haven't used Wikipedia in a while and I'm trying to get back into it!) Pferrete (talk) 14:04, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote this on your wall as well, but if you (or anyone else) is able to give feedback, it would be most appreciated. I currently have a peer review request pending, so if you could do a peer review or edit the article as needed, that would be great. You can add tags as well, but it would be preferable to simply edit the text in order to make it more neutral and comprehensive. Thanks for your interest! Suggestions for improvement[edit]

I've done some overhauling of this article, and see two main sections that need work. The History section needs citations from the last sentence in the first paragraph of "Early years" to the first sentence of the fourth paragraph of the same section. If anyone can find sources and add citations, that would be great. Also, the "Raising awareness" section appears listy due to the fact that there are a lot of campaigns and videos, but only a couple sentences for each. If someone could add more content and/or photos (that meet Wikipedia's rules on copyright) that would also be helpful. Tonystewart14 (talk) 22:00, 22 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
