The Liberal Party and the PLI are the same subject[edit]

This party and the Italian Liberal Party (2004) are the same subject. The congresses are continued in chronological order, it means that they are the same party. The party has never been dissolved, in 2004 some movements are merged into Liberal Party, that has changed its name into Italian Liberal Party. I propose to move the information of this page, to turn this page into a redirect and to move the page Italian Liberal Party (2004) to "Italian Liberal Party (new)" (or to "Italian Liberal Party (1997)").--Maremmano (talk) 21:40, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I would keep the two articles separate for the readers' sake. --Checco (talk) 11:36, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Two different pages for one party only are against the readers' sake. The Italian Socialist Party was founded in 2007 as Socialist Party, but for this party there arent' two different pages.--Maremmano (talk) 22:34, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That was just a change of name, the transition from PL to PLI was more than that. --Checco (talk) 08:09, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If we don't unify the two pages I propose at least to move Italian Liberal Party (2004) to "Italian Liberal Party (new)": the name "Italian Liberal Party (2004)" is too different from the name of italian page ("Italian Liberal Party (1997)") and may create confusion--Maremmano (talk) 22:48, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I strongly oppose that latter proposal as it would inconsistent with similar cases. It.Wiki is totally irrelevant here. This said, I've reflected thoroughly on your original proposal and I now support the merger proposal at Italian Liberal Party (1997). --Checco (talk) 07:25, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, however It.Wiki isn't totally irrelevant, Wikipedia remains only one in more languages--Maremmano (talk) 19:31, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
