Leo Ryan graduated fronm Campion Jesuit High School in Prairie du Chein,Wisconsin in 1943.My dad roomed with Mr. Ryan.Although Campion Jesuit High School hhas been closed, the Campion guys have 2 websites:CAMPION FOREVER a newsletter and Campion Jesuit High School website an ongoing project.I think both websites should be linked to this article about Leo Ryan.Thank you- Richard Dungar-La Crosse,Wisconsin-

i do not beleave it was the groups escort who opened fire on the congressman and his party. but I beleave that there were 2 trucks who pulled up (and this is one film, filmed by the shot cameraman) to the airfield shortly before the planned take-off and the gun men climbed out of the trucks, firing their weapons. <--- I dont have a log in yet. ERROR: Gordon Lindsay

The article states: "At first, only the Temple legal counsel was allowed off the plane, but eventually the entire entourage (save Gordon Lindsay, reporting for NBC) was allowed in. "

BUT Lindsay did not work for NBC, and the Gordon Lindsay who the name is linked to died in 1973 (which is earlier than 1978), and was even less likely to work for NBC than the Lindsay you were looking for. It's best to read first, write second.

ERROR:: one note, no whispers, delegation stayed overnight.

The article states: "but after only a few hours Ryan and his entourage began receiving notes and whispered requests for evacuation from the facility. That night, the media and the delegation were returned to the airfield for accommodations following Jones' refusal to allow them to stay the night; the rest of the group remained."

BUT the Ryan delegation (Dwyer, Annibourne, Speiers, Ryan) stayed over at Jonestown and the others went to Kaituma. ONE note was passed to Bob Brown by Temple member Vernon Gosney --it was the only note, and the spoken dissent didn't begin until the following afternoon. Thanks, Robert Helms

Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple

I do not think it is a good idea to add Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple to the 'See also' section of the article. 'See also' items should have a simple one-step relationship to the subject of the article, and the relationship here is not one-step but two-step: Leo Ryan was killed at Jonestown which is the subject of the documentary Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple. I've seen people exploiting 'See also' section in order to push POV, and in order to avoid such things we really need to exercise restraint in what we add to this section. -- Antaeus Feldspar 20:48, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

"judicial excess of the CIA"???

For the life of me, I cannot figure out what "judicial excess of the CIA" is supposed to mean. I'm sure the author had something serious in mind, but exactly what is a mystery. I googled it, but the phrase doesn't turn up anywhere else. I've even tried standing on my head... Does anybody have a clue? Thanks! Cgingold 17:19, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
