Removal of template[edit]

The template on Lehmann discontinuity disputing the accuracy of this article was placed without Talk page discussion to explain what was in dispute. I have added several sources that support the presentation , and have removed this template. Brews ohare (talk) 19:01, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

LD due to stresses, cracks?[edit]

The following article seemingly suggests, that deep lithospheric material, subjected to stresses, cracks horizontally, ultimately creating an anisotropy, in the speeds, of horizontally vs. vertically polarized S-waves.

Likewise, the LD seems associated with the Lithospheric-Aesthenospheric Boundary (LAB); perhaps the stresses & strains, imputed into the boundary layers, at and near the contacting surfaces of the LAB, generally reduces S-wave speeds; and specifically reduces SV-wave speeds even more? 66.235.38.214 (talk) 06:06, 22 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
