Tales[edit]

Is there a table of contents for this book? We may -- or may not -- have articles for the individual tales, but a list by itself would be good. Goldfritha 23:43, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Much better. :D
Can anyone tell whether Pearls, Thread Yourselves is another title for A String of Pearls Twined with Golden Flowers? Goldfritha 00:19, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it is. I`ve checked and it`s the same tale :) Theavex 18:16, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. Another link. Goldfritha 23:17, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

While I'm on a roll, are any of The Golden Stag (fairy tale), The Bay-Tree Maiden, The Boys with the Golden Stars, or Stan Bolovan also in the collection? Goldfritha 01:27, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hy, sorry for the late reply. From what I see on Wikisource and in one of Ispirescu`s book I have at home, none of the above are in Legende sau basmele românilor. However, the name "The Boys with the Golden Stars" reminded me of "Doi feţi cu stea în frunte" (lit. "Two boys with stars on their forehead") by Ioan Slavici which is a story about an emperor and a poor shepherd with three daughters, Ana, Stana and Lăptiţa, who each one either bake magic breads, weave magic shirts or make magic sons, etc. etc. So there`s your tale! Stan Bolovan is likewise there :) Cheers! Theavex 16:55, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, we all got lives.
Cool. I read his article -- it didn't seem to talk about collecting fairy tales. Did he do that? If not, I would suspect that he based some short stories on the fairy tales. (I could put either detail into their articles, but it would have to be the right one. . . .) Goldfritha 01:17, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
