For such a major brand, this page is awfully short and disorganized. I'm going to mark it for expansion. Jon914 09:12, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A different history of LEE KUM KEE according to other siblings and living grandson of LEE KUM Sheung[edit]

The follows represents the closest history of the early years of LEE KUM KEE; miles apart from the late company literature issued to the media.

LEE KUM KEE was actually started prior WWI, at the dawn of Dr. Sun Yat Sen's Wuchang uprising. Its founder was the middle son of LEE KUM SHEUNG, 李兆登, also known as 登伯 in his later years, together with the surviving siblings of his elder brother started a small business selling groceries and from time produced its own condiment in the Western District on the Hong Kong Island. The business flourished with overseas demand. A decade later in the 1920's opened its branch in Macau; and with every member working day and night busy cooking its famous oyster sauce started to supply to the big eateries in the Guangchow area in the 30's. Its china operation once ceased following the communist take reign.202.40.137.197 (talk) 02:20, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

LEE KUM SHEUNG was actually a handly man skillful in woodcraft and travelled his way to make a living. He was best remembered to have arranged top builder to make LEE KUM KEE location a landmark in Macau. It is customary for chinese businessman to accredited their success to ancestor. And if LEE KUM SHEUNG was in fact the founder of LEE KUM KEE, he could undeniably have the credits pass on to his father instead. Also it could be near impossible to mass produced oyster sauce without being noticed by the Manchurian government, and without modern food science technology oyster and oyster sauce could easily turn bad in a matter of hours.

LEE SIU NAN was a late partner in the 1950's, the original partners were reluntant to take him. LEE MAN TAT enters LEE KUM KEE in 1960's, his brother LEE MAN LOK briefly served a junior position with a bank, and he himself as leathergoods seller. LEE MAN TAT succeeded in helping his father LEE SIU NAN in the takeover of LEE KUM KEE in 1972, and was able to takeover his brother LEE MAN LOK's shares in 1980's. Ever since the first takeover erupted, all other siblings of LEE KUM SHEUNG has chosen to distance LEE MAN TAT and his family.202.40.137.197 (talk) 02:39, 23 July 2010 (UTC)202.40.137.197 (talk) 02:43, 22 July 2010 (UTC)202.40.137.197 (talk) 05:38, 21 July 2010 (UTC)202.40.137.197 (talk) 05:32, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Feudal and modern China may have lost many evidence but important agencies of developed nations such as the US Custom and Immigrations should have somethings in their archives to show exactly who's who in with the brand LEE KUM KEE and details which outline the place of origin, money involved, and/or persons responsible. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.40.137.196 (talk) 02:47, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

written with the highest respect to my ancestor, and an overdue obligation to clear up wrong history by LEE K.W. the Great Grandson of LEE KUM SHEUNG 202.40.137.197 (talk) 03:50, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Anybody can claim to be related to someone famous. Please do not add these claims unless you can back them up with reliable sources. Edward321 (talk) 04:09, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
for someone who have no idea the difference between oyster flavored sauce vs oyster sauce u better quit your effort; the US customs was the first agency to insist LEE KUM KEE to label its oyster sauce "oyster flavored sauce" half a century ago. U are wiping out important historic contribution and foolishly sticking to the company's in-house literature.202.40.137.196 (talk) 02:38, 15 November 2010 (UTC)202.40.137.197 (talk) 02:45, 26 July 2010 (UTC) LEE K.W.[reply]
I do not consider myself famous because the rest of us never used so much advertising in the old days, and we never fabricate stories falsify lies about our dead ancestor. My hope is wikipedia can keep my words posted.202.40.137.197 (talk) 03:35, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, we need this to be in a published source, i.e. a book, a newspaper, etc. Wikipedia only takes what is verifiable. See WP:V WhisperToMe (talk) 09:21, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
LEE KUM KEE founder Mr. LEE SIU TANG had a humble beginning and chose to distance from the media or public limelight. The extensive use of advertisement was absence until the takeover by LEE MAN TAT, only after then he started to employ famous ad house and renowned graphic/product designer to help promote the brand.
