This article lacks sourcing and appears to have been written based on personal knowledge rather than documented research, which is apparent in the points of view expressed and the timeframe of coverage. The environment section in particular has a negative bias that may have some basis in fact but lacks balance. Significant efforts such as the waterfront park development project and statewide environmental protection efforts in pollution control and recycling have changed the environmental situation in places like Old Bridge over the past twenty to thirty years. This article needs sourcing and better balance.Pat 19:18, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I offered some restructuring to this article. If no one objects, I'll remove the deforestation and pollution portions soon. They lack any source citations and present an unnecessarily negative picture. --Pat (talk) 21:39, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Biased / outdated[edit]

I agree that many of the comments seem biased towards older and outdated information which may have been true at one point but which are history now.

Examples: (1) NJ Transit runs busses which are "west" of the train line which takes you into NYC. This is where the park and ride is.

(2) The cost of housing based on the types of houses in Laurence Harbor are equitable to similar areas. In fact, the townhouses in the Bridgepointe community, part of Laurence Harbor, have a status and price tag above many townhomes of similar age, size and quality. The "bungalow" type houses have values on par with similar housing in many areas in central, nj. If anything, they may carry a small premium for their location to the water and major roadways.

(3) As mentioned above, the waterfront park areas has been developed which has cleaned up a major portion of the mentioned issues.

Factual Inaccuracy[edit]

The article claims "everyone" calls the area east of the railroad tracks "the Front." I lived in Laurence Harbor for the first twenty-two years of my life, including the ages when I was "hanging out down the Front" and I have never heard "the Front" used to mean anything other than the beach area in the center of town east of Rt. 35, including the main beach, its parking lot, buildings, tennis and basketball courts, and Hoffman's, which sits in the intersection of Rt. 35 and Laurence Parkway. A case could be made that the entire beach area, or even the two neighborhoods on either side of "the Front" (Shoreland Circle and the Presidents Section) between I-35 and the bay belong to "the Front," but to claim it extends all the way west to the railroad tracks is ludicrous. 76.113.83.121 (talk) 20:14, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bridgepointe[edit]

Bridgepointe townhouse development is a commercial enterprise. Including it in the article tends towards advertising, especially since no other communities in LH have been likewise described. Also, a townhouse community isn't notable or encyclopedic. These are the reasons I removed it once before. Please add a Wiki justification for including Bridgepointe. --Pat (talk) 19:49, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
