Deep Ellum tunnel[edit]

The statement about Laura Miller having the tunnel in Deep Ellum torn down and losing 30% of her previous approval rating because of that definitely needs to be cited. I thought the tunnel was torn down to make way for the DART Green Line. 04:59, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

I am pretty sure you are right about that. And since light rail lines take years to plan and design before any construction begins, it wouldn't surprise me if the tunnel was slated for removal before Miller even took office. Vorenus (talk) 13:25, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think DART publicly announced a proposal to demolish the tunnel at about the same time Laura Miller became mayor. Numerous locals were unhappy with the proposal, just as many were unhappy with DART's decision to tear down and rebuild the trestle over Church Road. I think DART considered it their only practical option. Andrea Parton (talk) 03:17, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Needs a picture that isn't "fair use." Also, needs more references and could use some expansion in terms of her political stance, etc. drumguy8800 C T 09:04, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
