Lauda Europe[edit]

Do we make a new article for the new Lauda Europe as technically it is a brand new company? Three aircraft have transferred to the new company in the past week. --MKY661 (talk) 18:19, 5 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In my opinion there's no need for a new article, which would provide very little added value (and would have minimal content), particularly as Lauda now operates only on a wet-lease basis for Ryanair. There might arguably be a case for moving the article to the new name, which would keep all the history together. Note that there is already a redirect in place. Lauda (airline)Laudamotion – I have seen everywhere and the common name for the airline is Laudamotion and not Lauda. I can see only a handful saying Lauda and the majority of it is Laudamotion. This also follows WP:COMMONNAME. Even though the branding changed, it was still called Laudamotion. • Username006, would you be able to demonstrate this with sourcing? From a quick search in news, reliable English-language sources seem to generally use the current page name more than the proposed one.--Yaksar (let's chat) 15:47, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, ASN and planespotters.net both use the Laudamotion name [1], [linkedin.com/company/lauda-motion], [2], [3],[4], [5] etc. all use the name as Laudamotion. Username006 (talk) 16:04, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Planespotters.net is not a reliable sources. All reference of the fleet pages are not reliable sources. Cornerstone2.0 (talk) 16:46, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • oppose move The proposed move would reverse the move made to the current name from Laudamotion on 27 March 2019. This uncontested move was made while the airline was still trading and apparently reflected the new name being used in reliable sources. WP:NAMECHANGES is the advice most useful here I believe. Andrewgprout (talk) 05:43, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The old name was also used in reliable sources. You yourself give reliable sources. Username006 (talk) 16:18, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Irish times does refer to it as Laudamotion and not Lauda: [6] Username006 (talk) 18:00, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose: the airline was renamed in 2019 (as attested by reliable sources, see for example [7]). Older sources naturally use the previous name, but the page should reflect the most recent name. Rosbif73 (talk) 19:18, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Rosbif73: I do understand that it was renamed but even after that, sources kept using it as Laudamotion. That's why Arrow Air is not called as Arrow Cargo. Seeing WP:NAMECHANGES, it should be named as Laudamotion. Username006 (talk) 09:33, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
