Calling a dog a 'carrier' mystifies me----Is this a regionalized term??? With in the US I'm pretty sure the use of the 'dog' name is most common.Rvannatta 07:58, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

agreed; it's a "lathe dog". 43,000 Google hits for that; 8,000 hits for "lathe carrier". I'm renaming the article. TJIC (talk) 20:42, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
