Decorations discrepancies[edit]

He is introduced with postnominal DSC ie Distinguished Service Cross, a British naval gallantry award that could have been awarded to an officer of the Royal Naval Air Service in WWI, but in text it is given as DFC - Distinguished Flying Cross - which was not instituted until 1918 when the RNAS merged into the new RAF, although he is stated to have been awarded it before being taken POW in 1917. A check showed it was not cited to the London Gazette, most authoritative official source of awards information. Please clear that up.Cloptonson (talk) 05:27, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
