March 2007

Hello all, and thank you for contributing to this school site. I'm part of the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Schools/Assessment team, and, as it has recently been editted, then I'm reviewing this page. I'm currently giving it a grade of start on the Wikipedia 1.0 Assessment Scale and an importance of Mid on this importance scale.

My reasoning is as follows: This article is extensive, but not well referenced. The alumni are there but only a few (one?) are world famous. A brilliant start article - needs more work to get to B e.g. use the ref tag. Its mid importance as the college is old (for America) Hope this helps Victuallers 18:27, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Note: Article was a copyvio and most of the revisions had to be deleted. —Centrxtalk • 15:03, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Recent changes to retention rate and commuter students

The comments about the college adding the CPS scholarships and recruiting more commuter students didn't have any references, and they seemed to be rather editorial. Also, the paragraph about student life offers no references for the opinions expressed. So, I have undone those changes and updated some of the information.

Notable alum

Recommend adding "class of" to notable alum. Thanks! FieldMarine (talk) 10:55, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Suggest Ban of [wpittinos]

This individual is employed by the college and is therefore unable to give impartial encyclopedic information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rufus12 (talkcontribs) 02:44, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

Suggestion for added section on campus and academic facilities

I'm a librarian employed by the College, so I'm not impartial, but might I suggest a section that is comparable to the one at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gettysburg_College#Campus? Also, the Library has a new electronic repository at http://publications.lakeforest.edu. Thanks for considering these! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Delevinson (talkcontribs) 15:43, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

Athletic history

Shouldn't be at least mentioned that representatives of this school were present at the discussions that led to the organization of what eventually came the Big 10 Conference? (Of course, it was probably most fortunate that Lake Forest didn't actually join as the results would likely have been similar to those of Sewanee in the Southeastern Conference.) 2600:1004:B110:497C:65AF:E45D:E4ED:DF76 (talk) 02:31, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

Suggestion for added notable alum

Again, I'm not impartial (see immediately above), but please consider this addition. One big name that's missing from the notable alum list is Richard Armstrong, former director of the Guggenheim Museum. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Armstrong_(museum_director). Some other suggestions already profiled in Wikipedia are https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingram_Marshall and Justin Lansing of the Grammy-winning Okee Dokee Brothers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Okee_Dokee_Brothers.
