Don't know how best to note this, but it is of considerable help when viewing, to know that the units used by Humboldt on his Chimborazo Map [1], which he called Toisen, compute to the Marienberg Lachter, at 1.9488m.172.103.138.179 (talk) 07:18, 29 May 2019 (UTC)just some Wiki user who's just spent 1 1/2 hours tracking down what "Toisen" is/are...[reply]

They meant Toise. And it's not the same, but roughly comparable. As the Lachters differ from region to region and times, so does the Toise. --Markscheider (talk) 07:51, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
