A doubt![edit]

The place mentioned as lakshadweep sea is known as Arabian Sea. Or has the Arabian sea vanished? What is happening? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.201.251.189 (talk) 08:39, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Lakshadweep is the more suited and ancient name.. meaning lakhs of islands (42.106.30.58 (talk) 08:28, 31 January 2018 (UTC))[reply]

Nomenclature Disparity[edit]

The article does not sufficiently address which of the two names, used interchangeably in the article, is preferred, or if they are equally appropriate. For clarity, one name should be utilized consistently throughout unless there is a compelling reason to distinguish, in which case that distinguishing criterion should be described. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.255.233.99 (talk) 18:28, 16 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Name issue[edit]

If India, which owns the Lakshadweep Sea, why should we continue to call it Laccadive Sea? This was the result of the inability of a colonial power that was unable or diabolically changed all Sanskrit names to anglicized versions. 98.179.85.170 (talk) 16:11, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
