Personal life[edit]

L E Dawson was a family friend. He worked in the ICS. This enabled him to know in advance of changes in the status of states, and buy up stocks of their stamps when circumstances made it advantageous to do so. On visiting places in England he would often go to the local Post Office and request to examine all their stamps in stock. He was Irish by origin, I think: at least he retired to Ireland, living in Dublin. I realise that this is OR and I cannot reference it. Seadowns (talk) 00:49, 30 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
