Unfortunately, the Facebook page misspelled the park "San Souci" as its title. It is so easily to spell things the way that they are pronounced when youre in doubt and not paying careful attention. As for the loss of the soft "c" in "Souci," that appears to be a local secret. Does anyone from the Wyoming Valley, which is where I went to college, care enough to discuss the local pronunciation here? Heff01 (talk) 07:19, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I went to King's College and graduated in 1996. My first semester I had a Human Behaviour class and answered a question from the professor mentioning the Sans Souci Parkway. He said, "its pronounced 'San Suey' here" and I thought like, "what?" and then almost laughed. Heff01 (talk) 07:54, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

While the pronunciation is bastardised, it is a good example of a shibboleth nonetheless. Heff01 (talk) 18:30, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
