"However, there is a website which lists two geographical coordinates for Koh Rong, marked as Koh Rong 1 and Koh Rong 2, respectively. Not sure whether the geographical coordinates are assigned to two different places on Koh Rong or there are two islands called Koh Rong. Refer to the website."

Based on this site, this map, and this map, I believe there is only one island by the name "Koh Rong" and the "1" and "2" on the other site are 'populated places' on the island.

Actually there are two islands: Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samlem. Koh Rong Samlem is visited more often by tourists. The two islands are very near together about 100-200 meters on the closest point). Koh Rong Samlem is south of Koh Rong.

History[edit]

"No recorded and administered settlements existed on Koh Rong island prior to 2000. From 1960 to 1975, the island was managed and governed by two institutions, the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port and the Navy authority. No one lived on Koh Rong island during the Pol Pot regime (1975–1979) and there were no organized fishing activities. " Any evidence of that? Local villagers say their families went there during the Khmer Rouge era, and there is evidence of fishing villages on Koh Rong before 2000. This whole section gives the impression that there were no people there before 2000, but gives no evidence of that. Because of the ongoing land disputes on the island, it seems that these sort of statements should be well documented. Whatbitme (talk) 08:55, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
