Irish road bowling[edit]

Isn't this sport exactly the same as the Irish road bowling? Only thing is, it has more variants, but still the basic principle remains the same.

External links modified[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Klootschieten. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Experts needed![edit]

I did some cleanup from the auto-translation, but I am neither a German speaker, nor familiar with this game, so may have messed things up - I apologize if so. I think to clean it up properly, this really needs some work from a bilingual subject-matter expert with a good chunk of time on their hands.

Since this page is also the redirect for Bosseln, it needs content for both bosseln and klootschiessen.

There's useful info, images etc at de:Boßeln and de:Klootschießen (with considerable overlap: that may in itself need cleaning by someone fluent in German). This page appears to be a Google machine translation from the Klootschießen page. There's also the above-linked sandbox page which looks like another machine translation of the same page.

There's also Irish road bowling, and a number of other sports.

The winners of the international competitions for 2008, and information for the 2012 and 2016 competitions is missing and needs to be added.

Overall, it feels like there's a clear distinction that can be drawn between the single-player shotput-style "Standing" play, and the team-based, golf-style "field" and "road" play ("road bowling"), and clarity might be improved by spli9tting the page into two along that line. It seems that in some countries they are considered different, but in Germany they share the same names so the boundaries are fuzzy. There's disagreement between the German pages about what the terms mean. The klootschiessen page says Bosseln's a much younger, but the bosseln page has a whole section about klootschiessen as if that's just a subset of Bosseln. There's more disagreement within the same pages about whether Irish road bowling is the same thing, or a different thing. And then there's de:kloutschiessen and discus throw and so on...
