Rock House

The Rock House (also known as the John Martin House), owned by the Stokes County Historical Society, and built by Capt. 'Jack' Martin, has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1975. The listing on the National Register specifies that the house is just north of King on State Route 1186, and I believe it deserves to be included under the King entry.[1] I will create a separate entry shortly, but the home's inclusion on the Register means it merits inclusion under King. Incidentally, there are only two entries listed for King under the National Register listing: one for the Rock House (added to the Register in 1975); and the other for the King Historic District (added to the Register in 2002). MarmadukePercy (talk) 06:21, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

Correct Location

The National Register has listed the Rock House incorrectly under King, NC for years. It should be listed under Pinnacle, NC. I think the local historical society has tried to correct the error.. you may want to contact them. The Rock House is a well known local landmark and it defiantly deserves its own entry. It would be incorrect to include it in the King, NC entry.

Since the Rock House, in rural Stokes County, is so far removed from Pinnacle, NC it probably should not be included in Pinnacle. The Pinnacle Post Office delverys the rural mail to the area of the Rock House, which is the reason for its address. Most locals do not associate the Rock House with Pinnacle, NC. I would suggest the Rock House information be included under the History of Stokes County, NC along with its own entry. Househunter76 (talk) 16:07, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

The demographics section is totally screwed up. I changed it, but it reverted back. They have a link ref 1 which has the 2000 pop and 2005-2009 pop. Most of the figures are not accurate.Mylittlezach (talk) 02:22, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
