Merge[edit]

  • Oppose merge with khlui. These are two different instruments from two different countries (though similar in construction, the repertoires and tunings are different). Badagnani 20:02, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Khloy and Khlui[edit]

These intrsuments are almost the same, if not identical to each other. It's less than the difference between a violin and a fiddle. In fact, Khloy is the Khmer pronunciation and Khlui (Khluy) is the Thai pronunciation of the same word. --Hecktor 07:04, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article already says that they are very similar (although, as mentioned above, their tunings, repertoire, and playing styles are different). However, it is not the same word, because the two words are in two unrelated languages with different scripts, and the Thai word has a rising tone, while the Khmer word has no tone.
