Chitpavan Brahman linkage[edit]

there is no evidence of it anywhere.

Please consider reading WP:VERIFIABLE. Wikipedia is an open encyclopedia and its very first emphasis is WP:VERIFIABLE is "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth" which means the emphasis is always on the editor adding new material to make sure it is verifiable.--Bigsuperindia (talk) 16:52, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
thanks Bigsuperindia for watching this article. Please consider to expand it with bringing some facts and information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Onef9day (talkcontribs) 17:29, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Let me get this straight. You deleted a reference and what was edited by me withour giving me more time to add a reliable reference. I am not going to report you because I don't have the time, but you could do well by reading ALL the policies of wikipedia, not just SELECTED ONES!!!77.69.195.30 (talk) 15:49, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You provided a yahoo group as a reference which is not a reliable reference. Please read Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Please consider bringing a reliable reference. And one note on your act of vandalism by deleting reliable references again and again. Please don't do it again. Groups and forums are not reliable source of information. Wikipedia is open to everyone. Hope to see your contributions to Wikipedia. cheers --Onef9day (talk) 18:03, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have a friend from pune whose surname is Khare and she is a Kayastha of Maratha community. But wikipedia do not take word of mouth, ideology of a person, general thinking of a group of people, propaganda of a community ....... etc. as a reliable source of information. I can put several names of friends from pune and mumbai who are Kayastha of Maratha community but they all are non reliable source of information. 77.69.195.30 (talk) has made mess on many article and has been warned several times for vandalism. I'm watching this article and thank Onef9day for your valuable contribution on wiki. have a nice time. --Bigsuperindia (talk) 20:25, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try to contribute to this article in future as i have very little time on hand now. --Bigsuperindia (talk) 20:31, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

When a citation is missing or unsatisfactory, the usual practise is to label it as "citation necessary". Both of you have indulged in unfriendly acts which contravene the letter and spirit of wikipedia policies. Go ahead and do as you please, incidently, the other author (bigsuperindia or whatever) has been warned of his ettiquette before. 193.188.105.25 (talk) 13:30, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
either you do not understand it completely or just want to argue on it. It is very clearly mentioned to add verifiable and reliable information. Yahoo groups or anything like that are not reliable at all. No personal website is a reliable source of information. You are welcome to add your information. Make sure it is verifiable and equally reliable. Thanks --Onef9day (talk) 16:25, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

looks like you have some issues with this articles. please discuss it here and help us expand this article with accordance to wikipedia. constructive contributions are always appreciated. If you want to add information then we welcome you and suggest you to consider providing a verifiable and reliable references. You can clearly see that some people here are trying to mess up with articles on regional basis. they have diverted whole point of view to their regional dominance. wikipedia is not a property of any particular community. I ask you to maintain neutrality and we will definitely come to consensus. Hope to see your contribution with a class of neutrality and reliability. thanks and happy new year. --Onef9day (talk) 18:43, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

hi everyone. i would like to say that may be Onef9day is correct but as per wiki everyone has equal right of contribution. I think even if some people are trying to impose their regional ideology, we must not do it as wiki is not a political arena. Onef9day even though you have structured and shaped it into an article as per wiki standards, it is still a property of wiki foundation. I hope and want everyone to contribute and lets do it the right way. Please post only encyclopedic information that can be verified by external sources. Please maintain a neutral, unbiased point of view. --Bigsuperindia (talk) 22:49, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Show cause. Why did you delete the material? It is not enough explanation to suggest that it was uncited, as shown by the wikipedia policies. Show cause! Was it inflammatory? Was it promoting regionalism? Was it causing distress to living individuals? Is there material saying what I am saying is false? Was reasonable time awarded before the edit was deleted? Was this deletion discussed? Was it notified on the talk page why a deletion was being CONSIDERED? I was not disputing the article content, I was adding information about a well-known genealogical tree in a particular state WITHOUT DELETING INFORMATION. There is no controversy, no dispute just a lack of citation which by itself is NOT enough cause to delete my edits. If there is insinuations on your part that I was trying to impose regional dominance by adding that a particular last name is also found in another community, it does not make sense. Is it insulting to you that the carriers of the Khare name may also be Chitpavans from Maharashtra? A lack of username in wikipedia cannot prejudice my edits. I repeat, show cause and I will back down. Explain your actions. Show me where it says that uncited material is to be deleted with immediate effect without cause. 82.194.62.200 (talk) 01:09, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

i am not concern of what every you edit or cut and past here. i'm largely doing housekeeping on articles by asking citations and you know many people post vague information just to either impose their ideology or to distort facts. It is as simple as this. and as for your edits, you are not considering what was asked for. instead arguing unnecessarily for your vague statements. moreover you back your statement with a link to yahoo groups. don't you have any other good thing to do than distorting articles on wikipedia. Your edits nowhere helps.

Secondly you are wasting time rather than bringing reliable sources. editors here are trying to give shape to this article and you come and distort it again and again. If you are so much concern about your edits then 1st created an account on wiki. It is very easy to distort things than creating. hope you will change your acts and contribute to wiki. help us improving ... --Bigsuperindia (talk) 01:39, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am done here. Clearly creating an account is not important for me especially considering the likes of who have created an account. 88.201.1.30 (talk) 12:14, 1 January 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Supreme Unmanifest (talkcontribs) [reply]

Kayastha, Shrivastavas[edit]

Shrivastavas are a sub community of Kayastha. Article's lead describes them as different. This is either a typo or misinterpretation. It needs to be corrected. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Swaminworld (talkcontribs) 18:18, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
