I have some problems with the sentence about Spraggett being the "second Canadian Grandmaster." What does that exactly mean? Yanofsky, Suttles, and Biyiasas were all awarded the title before Spraggett. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TaxHaven (talkcontribs) 14:11, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure either—'first Canadian-born grandmaster' would scan better I think. Brittle heaven (talk) 15:10, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

World championship cycle 1990[edit]

This article states that he qualified for the 1988-90 cycle, but on another page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Chess_Championship_1990#1988-90_Candidates_Tournament) it's clearly noted that the CFC nominated him to play. Hushpuckena (talk) 22:40, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is correct. I have an old issue of "en passant" which documents the event, and as I recall Spragett was just chosen by the Canadians as their candidate as a concession to hosting the St. John's New Brunswick chess festival. Qed (talk) 23:19, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Should we link to his blog?[edit]

It's practically a porn site. MaxBrowne (talk) 01:13, 28 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
