Age?

This articles provides two different birth dates, July 3rd 1980 and July 6th 1979...which one is correct? --71.84.126.174 (talk) 04:34, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

His real birthdate is July 6th, 1979. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.239.250.4 (talk) 17:57, July 23, 2013
We have a source for the day of birth. Could you please provide a source for the year of birth? GoingBatty (talk) 00:54, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
Rolling Stone confirms 1979. If he's "a 33-year-old, five-foot-four former sneaker salesman from North Philly" on August 8, 2012, and we know his birthday is July 6 per his Twitter, then the year is 1979. GoingBatty (talk) 01:18, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
August 8, 2012 was when the article was posted online. The article is dated May 31, 2012, which means Rolling Stone gives his birth year as 1978. --Tenebrae (talk) 19:13, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

Kevin Hart's birthdate

Resolved
 – found a reliable source to verify birthdate Webclient101talk 02:15, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

I have been looking everywhere to find a reliable source on Kevin Hart's birthdate, and the only sources I found were IMDB and About.com. I don't think those sources are reliable for the birthdate and About.com shows a different birthdate than IMDB. Therefore, I have removed the birthdate. Please feel free to add the birthdate with a reliable sources. I'm open for a discussion on this if anybody has any comments. Webclient101talk 23:57, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

Need to reopen Kevin Hart's birthdate

Rolling Stone says he was born in 1978. The New York Times says he was born in 1979. They're both major publications, both reliable sources. It'd be POV to choose one over the other.

Oddly, Rolling Stone was used to cite a 1979 birth date, so whatever editor did the math for that did it wrong.

I've added, in the citations' quote fields, what the publication says his age was: Rolling Stone says he was 33 before his birthday on July 6, 2012. The New York Times says he was 33 after his birthday on July 6, 2012. --Tenebrae (talk) 19:10, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

(Incidentally, Biography.com gives his birthdate as July 3, 1980, which Hart has said is incorrect.) --Tenebrae (talk) 19:12, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

Requested Move to "Kevin Hart"

The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was moved. --BDD (talk) 19:18, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

– I assume when someone searches "Kevin Hart", they are most likely searching for the actor instead of the athletes and poet. I would like "Kevin Hart" to default to the actor page; and have a link to the "disambiguation" above. Marty2Hotty (talk) 06:08, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Oppose - the Australian poet and theologian is a clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC in Google Books, but dabbed as a concession to the other Kevin Harts. The popularity of the actor is WP:RECENT and not of the same encyclopaedic notability as the poet/theologian. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:04, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
  • Support (as nominator) - I think Kevin Hart (actor) is the more searched one. I would like someone to pull up the number of hits and compare with the poet. I am unsure how to do this for Wikipedia. Marty2Hotty (talk) 16:28, 18 November 2013 (UTC) I added the "(as nominator)" bit for clarification purposes, as per what In ictu oculi wisely pointed out. Red Slash 23:57, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
FWIW Editors do not normally post again to "support" their own nom. You can use grok.se to find out searches, but I don't think anyone would dispute more people are searching for a TV actor than a poet-theologian. But WP:PRIMARYTOPIC deliberately weights against this sort of rationale, otherwise there would be no (actor) (singer) dabs, actors and singers would always be primary. In ictu oculi (talk) 17:54, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
  • Comment: This should have been submitted as a multipage move request. There is already an article at Kevin Hart. The lack of inclusion of the other article name in the move request results in a lack of notification of the proposed impending move for watchers of the other article. —BarrelProof (talk) 15:14, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
    • I have attempted to reformat the move request as a multipage move. If I didn't do it correctly, you are hereby requested to help fix it. —BarrelProof (talk) 17:03, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
    • Thanks for your help BarrelProof on tagging the "Kevin Hart" page too. The page views as noted below look pretty skewed for the actor. I think it would work better suited to have people that search "Kevin Hart" get them to the correct article that they are looking for. Marty2Hotty (talk) 06:23, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
  • Strong support as per pageviews, which the nominator never actually did the work to bring forth. 383971 for the actor and 2078 for the poet. No, that ratio of over 100 to 1 is not a typo. This is a shoo-in move on pageviews and easy enough to justify even on the "lasting significance" criteria. This poet dude ain't exactly Edgar Allen Poe! In ictu oculi's argument that the writer has made a more notable impact than the actor is specious at best. Red Slash 23:55, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
  • (Weak) support - Looking at his credentials, the actor might have done bad movies and TV, but they are notable at best to make him most viewed. I don't think someone that popular is familiarized by Midwesterners, suburban, and rural people. Probably they hear of Kevin Hart (baseball) or Kevin Hart (poet), but they are less popular. George Ho (talk) 21:33, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

I recommend you change the quote: "His career suffered a slow start and he was booed offstage several times, once even having a piece of chicken thrown at him."

Kevin Hart states in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQA8efI34Ic (at the 2:08 timeframe) that the claim he was booed offstage is incorrect.

Further incorrect claims about his Wikipedia page can be identified as the video continues, such as one that claims he lived in Massachusetts, in which he replies: "I never lived in Massachusetts. And why would I go Brockton? Like what- that's racist." 78.148.98.243 (talk) 13:37, 7 April 2023 (UTC)

  •  Not done The line about him living in Massachusetts is cited and the source indeed states that. Mr. Hart speaking about himself is a primary source and Wikipedia primarily cites independent reliable sources. If the source is in error, Mr. Hart should speak to them to have them issue a correction, or alternatively sources can be offered that describe where he was living or what he was doing in that time period.
The part about him being booed is also cited, and that source seems to be summarizing an interview with him. 331dot (talk) 13:45, 7 April 2023 (UTC)
