Age of husband[edit]

ODNB says: "It was once thought that James Philips was fifty-four at the time of the marriage, but Elizabeth Hageman has shown conclusivstartely that the statement on the marriage licence, indicating that he was twenty-four, is accurate." Vernon White . . . Talk 20:44, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Double 'p'[edit]

Surely the surname is 'Philipps'? Llywelyn2000 (talk) 20:21, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Research seems to suggest only a single 'p' Mill 1 (talk) 12:00, 28 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
As her husband is under James Philipps, I will move her accordingly. Deb (talk) 16:45, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I adjusted the spelling of Philips' name to align with the existing scholarship on her (ODNB, Britannica, etc). James Philips' surname does not have a consistent spelling in references of him, but Katherine Philips does. Rae (BYU) (talk) 21:58, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
