[Untitled][edit]

This summary of Dr. Karen Antman's professional accomplishments is the biography that she has provided to me as the editor of BU School of Medicine publications to be posted on a site with her name and linked to the Boston University School of Medicine page.

The material has also been provided to Boston University's page that your site as copyrighted material.

How do I get this material posted on the your site without your deleting it. An academic's professional biographny is used for mutliple purposes i.e. press releases, grants, professional organizations and is not rewritten for each purpose.

If you will not accept this material how does one get a biography posted when the content is materially the same regardless of what it is used for. Mary228 (talk) 15:18, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If there is no copyright problem, then the article will need to be re-written (can't cut & paste). Keep watching the article for activity re: copyright. In the meantime, you could do some reading on editing here so that you are aware of how things are done. --Stormbay (talk) 03:59, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
An encyclopedia article is not a press release and should not include the same material. Further, if you do desire to reuse any previously published material on Wikipedia we require verifiable permission from the copyright holder. Finally, you should be aware that we strongly discourage writing about subjects with whom you are affiliated. VernoWhitney (talk) 15:47, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
