and drop the unencyclopedic tone when you get around to it. As its stands its a puff piece. "unique", "nonetheless creates time", "tailored towards" etc don't belong in an encyclopedia. Just write the biography, stick to the sources, and put your own artistic license on the back burner.
Besides, if you have the sources (evident in the external links), use them. "External links" are not a parking place. -- Fullstop (talk) 04:52, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Translation of His Name[edit]

I don't know why his name's meaning is in the article, but I would prefer the more accurate translation - Glorious Safety/Security. Salaama (سلامة) while from the same root as Salaam (peace) (سلام) has a slightly different meaning. The meaning of كريم is a bit more nebulous but at least in the Qur'anic context - القران الكريم - is usually standardized as glorious, hence The Glorious Qur'an. Of course translating an Adjective-Noun name as "Adjective-Noun" in English is a little disingenuous also in that it a) is not grammatically correct in Arabic; and b) really wouldn't be thought to have a specific linguistic value (generally). Also he's from Oklahoma, though Egyptian... Thoughts? Michael Sheflin (talk) 18:33, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
