Removal of newscast schedules?[edit]

To all editors, please see the discussion at Wikipedia_talk:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Newscast_schedules.2C_redux, where the issue of removing locally originated programming schedules is discussed. Calwatch 05:22, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mike Binkey Retirement Information[edit]

According to StarTribune, Binkley has signed a 3-month extension with KSTP while they search for another Male anchor. Dane2007 19:39, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bad Link for Angela Davis[edit]

The link for Angela Davis is incorrect (no - she was never a member of the Black Panthers....). I could not find the link in the edit screen behind the page - only her name - but it links to another, far more radical - and much less appealing - Angela Davis.

Where did Jo Ann Bemoras Go?[edit]

Just wondering where Jo An Bemoras went, what happened to her.

KSTP is really burnging through their on-air talent. Jeff-- Not sure where Jo An went but she was never a real regular here. She was actually an anchor in Florida at some Orlando news station in the 1980's. I know she still lives in WI so maybe we will see her return. I went to high school with her in Ellsworth, WI. (Bemoras is her married name) Harris Faulkner--glad she's gone. But Angela Davis was very good at her job (reading a Teleprompter lol). So was Dave Binkley, Jim Guy... All gone. Dick Small-- Well we wish you were gone, no need for that kind of statement.

I've been watching KSTP in the morning since my high school days. Rusty Gatenby--he cracks me up! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dixler (talkcontribs) 02:59, 8 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Kstp0584.jpg[edit]

Image:Kstp0584.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:08, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2007 The Summer of Leah.[edit]

KSTP is having a casting call for a new afternoon show. I nominate Leah McLean to host. Let her have the format of her choosing. It sounds like better hours. Nobody likes to work the swing shift. And, she could have more time to have fun.

11pm News to stay

I red on St. Paul Newspaper that KSTP plans to keep the 11pm news that they only where going to use during the election season. They had good results from the 11pm news and the cost is low to produce a 11pm newscast because they can use most of the news stories from the 10pm news and just add in breaking news, weather, sports. Tom Hauser did most of the anchor work for the 11pm news Dave Dahl weather and Phil with sports. They did not say if Tom would keep on doing the anchor spot or if they will rotate between Tom, John and Leah. I think its a good move i mean there are some people that might not get home til like 10:30 for some reason so its nice to be able to turn on and watch a live 11pm news. It also fits with KSTP News leader and more news station ideas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jminnesota (talkcontribs) 07:27, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

general tone and on-air list[edit]

A lot of this article, especially the sections pertaining to the news operations, needs to be rewritten and edited for grammar and style. Also, the on-air talent list is super unwieldy and should be limited to *notable* anchors and reporters (those with tenure, those who haved moved to bigger markets or national TV, etc.). I'm starting on it but I would like some help :) Ehren (talk) 22:14, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material[edit]

Hello, Please do not add unreferenced names as entries to the list of former employees in articles. Including this type of material in articles does not abide by current consensus and its inclusion is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:

  1. WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
  2. As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
  3. WP:NLIST tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
  4. Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.

If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). If a preexisting article is already in the encyclopedia for the person you want to add to a list, it's generally regarded as sufficient to support their inclusion in list material in another article. cheers Deconstructhis (talk) 03:48, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pointergate[edit]

After this story about the mayor making gang signs turned out to be total bullshit, the station is coming under a lot of criticism for being a front for right wing values.

I notice that a racist Donner60 has already removed any reference to this piss-poor attempt at journalism claiming it's "unsourced". Yeah right, like there is nothing a quick search on web wouldn't prove. Wikipedia the online encyclopedia where any racist can edit.

Just for clarity and for the benefit of the racist, here are a few "sources" stating the bleeding obvious:
