I would suggest that any appropriate and salvageable content from the cbs4denver.com article be merged into this article. Honestly, I don't think individual station websites deserve a separate article. If anyone disagrees, the cbs4denver.com article can be AfD'd. Anyone agree with this merge? --WCQuidditch 23:01, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That article is a copyvio from http://cbs4denver.com/info . —Whomp [T] [C] 23:24, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think that there should be a section in KCNC's article about its website. I may get down to writing it sometime.

Why?

This gallery of images contributed to this article. Why was the removal allowed?

Fair use criteria[edit]

The use of images not in compliance with our fair-use criteria or our policy on nonfree content is not appropriate, and the images have been removed. Please do not restore them. — Moe ε 21:03, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Those who subscribe to the over-restrictive interpretation of fair-use should also go abbreviate some other TV station nodes where fair-use, historical station logos continue to be present. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WSLS

However, I hope that they do not. Moe is not on Wikipedia any longer. Perhaps he and his cohorts, including "Neutralhomer" and "A Man In Black," have also tired of removing content from this encyclopedia. --144.226.173.68 20:27, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Old station logos[edit]

What happened to the old station logos that were previously included on this page? Several other news stations' pages have old logos, which are fair-use images of historical and scholarly value.

I'm noticing a lot of admin-backed removals of information from Wikipedia, and it's reducing my confidence in the site as a comprehensive encyclopedia. The abbreviation reminds me of the mid-90's Microsoft Encarta, which had to fit on one CD-ROM.

Could someone make an effort to restore this lost information? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.226.173.68 (talk) 20:23, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:KCNC4.png[edit]

Image:KCNC4.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Wendy Bergen controversy[edit]

I noticed that there was no end date for Wendy Bergen's tenure. She was the first investigative journalist I ever followed, so I remember when she had to resign. I found a link about the pit bull controversy and what I believe is the correct end date for her tenure, but even though I can figure out how to add the format for a footnote and add the link itself to the bottom of the page, I fear that my Wiki skills don't include linking the two properly or starting a reflist according to template. Will someone clean it up? Also, the pit bull controversy itself would make a good addition to the station's history if someone's willing to write it. 64.139.18.122 (talk) 21:54, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Amount of News Aired[edit]

How was that calculation made? Does that include CBS4 updates during the Early Show? If it does not it should be added, because they are news casts, very short but they are fully copyrighted newscasts.. Thanks.

Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material[edit]

Hello, Please do not add unreferenced names as entries to the list of former employees in articles. Including this type of material in articles does not abide by current consensus and its inclusion is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:

  1. WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
  2. As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
  3. WP:Source list tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
  4. Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.

If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). If a preexisting article is already in the encyclopedia for the person you want to add to a list, it's generally regarded as sufficient to support their inclusion in list material in another article. cheers Deconstructhis (talk) 03:10, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

NEWS 4 at 9?[edit]

I Saw a video on Youtube tonight that shows an opening of "NEWS4 at 9" checking the date it appears to have aired on a Tuesday night just a few days before the opening ceremony of the 1992 summer Olympics. Can anyone shed any light on this newscast?
