Science Fiction Awards Database[edit]

first of multiple sections posted together -P64

Here is the comment I inserted at the bottom of section Awards. It explains the scope of [ref name=sfadb]--the only source now given here--in relation to our listings.

!-- Beside the unique Andre Norton Award, SFADB covers all British, Aurealis, Ditmar, Hugo, and Locus awards (and Nebula and Mythopoeic but she has no listings). 2014-05-09 this section notes her 1 British and 3 Aurealis and 1 Hugo nominations; her 2 Locus rankings in the top three (among numerous top tens), her Ditmar win and 1 of her several other nominations -->

Thus it doesn't cover the Susan Koppelman Award, the 2006 Ethel Turner Award, the Thumbs Up Award (i don't recognize any of them, fwiw). SFADB provides more information about all the awards it covers, linked to the award names in the page cited here. [ref name=sfadb][1]

Racial identity (award)[edit]

one of multiple new sections -P64

Larbalestier and Liar (2009) won a Carl Brandon Award "for works by persons of color, and dealing with issues of race and ethnicity; juried" (my emphasis).

We do not list that one and it is new to me.

Hastily --reading Carl Brandon Award at SFADB, not visiting the official site-- I suppose the word that I underlined above should be 'or': one award for fiction by a person of color, about anything; one for fiction by anyone, about race and ethnicity.
