Basque Descent[edit]

The article states that Guzman Tapia is of Basque descent and cites this page, which, if you follow the family chain to the top (to Pedro Ignacio de Aguirre e Illarade and his daughter, Beatriz de Aguirre y Barnechea), we see that Pedro Ignacio was born in "San Sebastián" in 1680, but no country is given and while I find it doubtful that it is San Sebastián, Chile, it is certainly possible. Beatriz marries José de Arlegui Salinas, born in Pamplona, Spain, but beyond that, as far as I can tell, there are no Basque/Navarrese family members that are necessarily connected to Guzman Tapia because he is directly related to Beatriz's brother, Juan Nicolás de Aguirre Barrenechea and not Beatriz herself, who was the only person in the family we know to have married a Basque. Am I misreading something? I won't remove the statement for a couple of days, to gauge response. Isaiah (talk) 15:33, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
