Genre update (plus some fixes)[edit]

Nice to see that Josh finally has his OWN article. I'm touching up a bit of things and one thing that I find odd is the "Industrial rock" genre tag. While with TTA he has remixed tracks that qualify as Industrial rock, I do not believe that warrants the genre when he is otherwise only peripherally close to it. He once cited Skinny Puppy as an immense influence and in his collaborative efforts, as opposed to just remixes, he has worked with Puscifer on several tracks that in general fall under a sort of "Post-Industrial" umbrella - he is closer to this. Therefore, while I'm not going to add it, it's probably better to have there than "Industrial rock", which I'm going to remove for now. I also see the absence of a "Glitch" genre tag, which is highly appropriate given his early body of work, but again I will not add it for the sake of not having too many genres. The "IDM" and "ambient techno" tags are both there and, generally speaking, these are essentially the same thing in practical usage. I'd urge someone to replace one with "Glitch", but I'll let someone else decide which one goes. What I will be doing is adding "Dark ambient" in the place of "Industrial rock", a genre represented in his sound far more than anything rock oriented (i.e. "Your Every Idol").

Well, Telefon Tel Aviv is not his only musical input. He also performed with Nine Inch Nails and was a member of the Black Light Burns; Eustis released music with both of these industrial rock bands. I am going to restore industrial rock for now. Myxomatosis57 (talk) 20:32, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm aware entirely and though I wouldn't classify Cruel Melody as "Industrial rock", but people would disagree with me. However, if you'd like to maintain the tag, I still believe the "Dark ambient" tag is as, if not more applicable in his overall output. The same goes for "Glitch". However, the former is only somewhat prominent and the latter is something that almost nobody who has heard TTA would contest. I've checked numerous pages for various ambient techno/IDM groups and most of them just default to the IDM umbrella, so I actually will axe "ambient techno" for now and replace it with that one.
