Talking Points Memo is a link to this bio. But TPM is a website, and JMM is a person. Shouldn't it have a separate article? It's a pretty influential site. Sarah crane 17:24, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Self-licking ice cream cone?[edit]

The lead for this article sites the NYT Magazine's praise of the blog. Should it? Okay, maybe it is an objectively considered endorsement, but the NYT is a left-of-center newspaper and it's praising a left-of-center blog as being "one of the...most respected" blogs. Respected by whom, and based on what criteria? Point is, I'm not sure that's an objective endorsement. Plus, it's an endorsement of a blog in a person's article. So of course the endorsement can be present in the article, but it shouldn't be part of the article's lead. The lead should give a general overview of the article, and ideally be as objective as possible. A one-sided praise should be down in the body of the article somewhere.

(If someone wants to launch into a debate about whether or not "The Gray Lady" is a left-of-center paper, fine, whatever, but it's a waste of time and not the point of this section.) 74.103.1.187 (talk) 14:13, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with 74.103.1.187. Krakatoa (talk) 23:58, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
