issues with article

After a request at the teahouse re: orphan status which was resolved with an addition and link from [List of Australian artists]], I noted a few issues with the article - especially the use of wikipedia articles as sources. To be honest I feel this article shouldn't have passed AFC but I have taken out the obvious issues to give its creator a chance to find reliable sources that support notability. Please note I have:

• deleted references that cite wikipedia
• deleted references that don't support the preceeding statement. For example if you say that an artist exhibited at a gallery, the source needs to say that - not just that the gallery exists.
• two lists of solo and group exhibitions have been cut back to three each even though they don't seem to be notable.

Remaining problems are these:

• The only sourrce that is close to reliable is this interview. The other 3 are exhibition release notes on industry sites.
• There are no independent reviews of the artist or his work.
• I believe this is a case of too soon and that the subject doesn't meet WP:BLPNOTE or WP:GNG. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Flat Out (talk • contribs) 01:29, 6 March 2015

@Flat Out: Ah coming from someone who doesn't even sign their posts I'm a tad offended at your attacks but alas on to the issue at hand. Yes I did accept this AfC submission, though its references and such are subpar. A few reasons, first if someone has issues with it they can simply take it to AfD and have it deleted. Second, most collaboration and article improvement happens in the mainspace, something AfC has learnt. While this article was lacking a few things I approved it as a good base article that had potential. EoRdE6^{(Come Talk to Me!)} 01:53, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

@EoRdE6: I'm sorry that you see my comments as an attack they were certainly written in good faith. I agree there is potential for the article which is why I tagged it with BLP sources and left a message] suggesting collaboration on the creator's talk page. WP:NARTIST the notability standard for artists sets the following requirements:

Authors, editors, journalists, filmmakers, photographers, artists, architects, and other creative professionals: 1. The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors. 2. The person is known for originating a significant new concept, theory or technique. 3. The person has created, or played a major role in co-creating, a significant or well-known work, or collective body of work. In addition, such work must have been the subject of an independent book or feature-length film, or of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews. 4. The person's work (or works) either (a) has become a significant monument, (b) has been a substantial part of a significant exhibition, (c) has won significant critical attention, or (d) is represented within the permanent collections of several notable galleries or museums.

I have again removed sources about other artists, and have deleted unsourced content. The subject of the article doesn't meet 1, 2, 3, or 4. and with most sources being notes on small exhibitions, doesn't have the depth of coverage for WP:GNG. Without significant sources the article is unlikely to survive at AfD. Flat Out let's discuss it 04:38, 7 March 2015 (UTC)

Remaining issues to be addressed

Some good sources have been added to the article, especially the Mooks article. The local news story is reliable too and goes a small way to support notability under WP:GNG.

Still there are 7 references that are about artists other than the subject of the article. There needs to be a reason to include these other artists which is not immediately clear at this point in time, remembering that notability can't be inherited 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

A source http://www.codenametom.com.au/ doesn't support that Lord's work has been featured in The Design Files magazine.

This source http://thedesignfiles.net/2011/02/mornington-peninsula-home-david-and-lolly-of-codename-tom/ mentions Lord but im not sure it supports that he has been featured per se.

This source http://www.fadgallery.com.au/ doesn't mention Lord.
