Nice, concise article. I've been seeing lots of Eichlers featured on "House Hunters" on HGTV, so I looked him up . . . and discovered that Marinwood, where I lived in the early '60s, is almost entirely Eichler homes. Apparently, I lived in one and didn't even know it! ---Michael K. Smith 01:02, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, Marinwood is not. Terra Linda is. Go up Freitas Parkway from 101, up by that little shopping center almost at the end on the right, that's the neighborhood of Eichlers. Marinwood is just a medium-upscale tract with the standard five designs flipped and flopped for variety. My entire neighborhood is Eichlers. Apparently, my neighborhood decided that they were a kind of historical landmark so you aren't allowed to remodel =( Cdrdude 00:56, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article self-contradicts: it claims Steve Jobs never lived in an Eichler home and then mentions him as a person who lived in one (BTW, why is there a section for that?) --Rbanffy (talk) 01:35, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

People who grew up in Eichler homes[edit]

Thank you for removing this section. It seemed to be mostly a plug for famous people. Steve Jobs in this case Robert.Harker (talk) 05:43, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Quality[edit]

Can we have another section relating to the total lack of quality, cheap construction and life-threatening hazards of Eichler homes ? Yes, hazards. They hold the world's record for burn-to-the-ground speed, the heating lasted about five years at most and could not be repaired, they are built of pressed dog poop, they only cost about $13,000 brand new, they were cheap junk. They may even be the inspiration for Malvina Reynolds (citation needed.)

They are truly awful. Yes, I lived in one. You may now tag this for point of view but it's truth. We should not be idolizing these monstrosities. A double-wide under the bridge down by the river would be a better choice.116.231.78.79 (talk) 12:05, 27 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
