Outing Handling[edit]

Until a living person verifies in an interview or through an authorized representative a fact about their personal life (in this case, purported homosexuality) we should handle it more carefully than the original revisions. We have to use words like "claimed" and "porported". Hampton (talk) 20:23, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the section regarding Knight's supposed outing and did a some other maintenance as well. While it may be true, sources like Just Jared, Perez Hilton and The National Enquirer are not considered reliable sources by Wikipedia standards. Until there is a reputable source that reports this (not a gossip blog or a tabloid) or Knight himself gives an interview and explicitly states he's gay, it shouldn't be mentioned here per WP:BLP. Wikipedia is so funny this way. Editors seem to forget that anyone can read the discussion page. Therefore, his reported outing has been dealt with on this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.244.31.61 (talk) 10:08, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
We're aware that anyone can read the talk page just as anyone can edit any page. It says so right at the top. No one is saying it's a secret and should be hushed up. Pinkadelica Say it... 06:17, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding this, Spanish Wikipedia has made this unverified information a good portion of their rather small article. It cites an article which reports on an "interview" with his alleged boyfriend and photos in the National Enquirer. Obviously this can't be a reliable source. I can read Spanish decently but can't write well enough to properly contest it. Maybe someone whose Spanish is better than mine can go and check it out? --Susan118 (talk) 20:50, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I decided to take a stab at the Spanish Wikipedia issue myself, by removing the questionable stuff and then attempting to construct an explanation in Spanish on the talk page. Hopefully it makes sense. --Susan118 (talk) 06:30, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm removing the recent re-addition of this information, despite the fact that it is cited. Don't know whether theinsider.com is a reliable source (doubt it but I am not familiar with it), but they simply show a picture on the National Enquirer (which wouldn't be a reliable source, even if you could see WHO was kissing in the picture). The other articles linked to by the insider.com report that Perez Hilton says Jonathan Knight is gay. So this is all still speculation unless Knight happens to give an interview where he confirms it. Given that it is controversial information added to a WP:BLP, this should stay out of the bio unless that happens. --Susan118 talk 05:36, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Despite the laughable censorship going on here about this fact here is the 'alleged' source, ie a clear as day photo of the man deep kissing his boyfriend as reported in the press. Of course, not 'verifiable' enough for those in denial here who have their own agenda. Vauxhall1964 (talk) 13:07, 31 October 2010 (UTC) http://www.dailystab.com/nkotb-jonathan-knight-gay/[reply]

Video of an interview with Tiffany saying that he 'turned gay' after they had finished dating at - http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/2011/01/pop-star-tiffany-talks-dating-nkotbs-jonathon-knight-but-his-gay-got-in-the-way.html - I'd say she could perhaps be taken as an authority on the issue having dated him? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.82.155.60 (talk) 01:41, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fifth of Six Children?[edit]

The article says that Jonathan is the fifth of six children in his family, but then goes on to list six names, none of which is Jonathan. - Elmarco 01:01, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
