A search of Newspapers.com suggests this guy also played catcher in minor league baseball. His baseball-reference profile is here. Still not clear that he passes GNG, but a 17-year minor league career may have drawn some SIGCOV. Of course, per SPORTBASIC, this article shouldn't even exist without the SIGCOV, so as things stand it remains my view that a redirect is best unless and until someone is able to do the required work.
