Life before Australia[edit]

I've added quite a bit on this - I do note that the Wesleyan bunfight was in the sources already used, but not thought worthy of inclusion. As it happens I came across this chap/article precisely from the Wesleyan bunfight, because it led to his brother Joseph leaving the Wesleyans and setting up on his own. This freed him from the 'no politics' rule and he got deeply involved in factory reform, anti-Poor Law agitation, 'physical force' Chartism and 18 months in chokey, which makes Joseph considerably more notable than John (N of the Equator, anyway).
I've also gone through UK BMDs, 1841 Census and newspapers to try to sort the family stuff out. I'm not convinced it was Wikipedia-notable, but most of the dates for events in England were (presumably as recalled in old age in Australia and ) wrong. Rjccumbria (talk) 02:56, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
