I assume but don't know whether he is related to Mortimer L. Schiff, member of the World Scout Committee from 1922-1931, for whom the Schiff Scout Reservation is named Chris 08:20, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Mortimer is John's father. The Schiff Reservation in NJ is named after Mortimer. There is one in NY named after John. I think they are Jewish, but not sure. Rlevse 19:20, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
yes, they are Jewish. This actually was an 'issue' with electing Mortimer as BSA President. --emb021
