Cleanup[edit]

The article needs to be —, well, turned into an article. At the moment it's just a single sentence saying that he's a bassist (no other details), and a list of famous people that he's claimed to have worked with. Oh, and an external link. It's pretty close to vanity/advertising. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 15:21, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well take it off then -nobody's stopping you! You state that He (Giblin) claims to have worked with these people. I'm the one who started this article and others have added to it. Nothing to do with Giblin. In fact, he wants it deleted completely. so get your facts right before you go writing sarcastic remarks about people. I've tried to delete it but someone keeps reverting it. So do me a favour and delete the article. from missionig —Preceding unsigned comment added by Missionig (talkcontribs) 23:26, 7 May 2006
You're being over-sensitive; there was no sarcasm involved. Note also that (admittedly confusingly) Wikipedia uses the term "vanity" to cover articles writen by people other than the subject.
there are no grounds for speedy deletion of the article; it would have to go to AfD; I have no reason, however, to suppose that a decent article can't be created on this subject — it's just that this isn't it. If you're so sensitive about it, and have knowledge of the subject, I don't understand why you don't improve it. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 08:14, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see anywhere that you tried to delete the article. Only that you "blanked" it, which is automatically treated as vandalism and repaired. There is a procedure for suggesting that articles be deleted, which is followed by a discussion and an attempt to reach consensus, which might lead to it being deleted. I've done a certain amount of tidying up of this article and researching (e.g. actual album names) but I have no view on whether the subject is notable enough to remain. You also might expand on "In fact, he wants it deleted completely." - is this information verifiable, e.g. on a web site? Notinasnaid 08:26, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
