Gavin or Gaven?[edit]

I found the article with Gavin in title but Gaven throughout as a result of this edit ([1]).

Checking the two references [2] Freemantle prison records] gives Gavin, but Law Society of Western Australia gives Gaven.

Since a) Gavin was the original title and b) Gavin seems to be the more common surname (eg number of WP entries) I've standardised on Gavin, but given Gaven as an alternative and created a redirect for Gaven.

Notability[edit]

A common criminal that became a convict apprentice, killed a man, and was hanged for the crime. There is nothing significant, WP:notable, or historical about this. Otr500 (talk) 20:28, 30 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

article shows reported/discussed in 3 WP:RS ie. The South-Western Advertiser and Murray Wellington Times, The Perth Gazette and Western Australian Journal, The Inquirer, also a quick gsearch brings up here - "Perth Old Courthouse: Trial of John Gavin", Overland (magazine) here - "Review: ‘The Unforgiving Rope’", here - "The Global History of Childhood Reader" (a snip), so meets WP:GNG, have removed the tag from the article.
