Birthdate[edit]

The Australian Dictionary of Biography lists his birthdate as 3 Apr 1897. The U.S. Social Securty Death Index [1] lists his birthdate as 22 Mar 1897. I'm changing the text back to 3 Apr since the biography is a more reliable source unless other sources are provided.
