Stub classification[edit]

I have classified this article as a stub. It needs expansion looking at his early life and career and focussing in greater depth on his career with the Red Wings. Capitalistroadster 01:44, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect Spelling of Name[edit]

22:28, 25 August 2007 (UTC)205.200.89.20Mr. Skinner's first name is "Jimmie" not Jimmy. In the information it is shown both ways. The name at the top should be corrected to Jimmie.

I have read it as "Jimmy" far more frequently than "Jimmie". Is there any cite for the spelling elsewhere (such as an autograph, etc). I think the fact that "Jimmy" was a nickname means that it doesn't have any set spelling to it. It would depend on how HE spelled it, and I can't find proof to support either spelling. All I know is that Jim is the alternative to James, and Jimmy is the most common spelling of that variation of Jim. --Poet  Talk  03:08, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for all the kind words about my father.[edit]

On the question of my father's name it was actually Jimmie. But he never corrected anyone that spelled it the other way. He just thought of that as too trivial to make a rucus over. Our family would love to see him in the hall, but unfortunately you have to be nominated and the new gender of the NHL doesn't look back on it's own history to often.I know for a fact that they will not recognize family members nominating. So if anyone is interested in helping my father get inducted I suggest they send e-mails or written letters to the hockey hall of fame nominating committee.again our family thanks all of you for your very kind words.--Jimmie Skinner Jr. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.41.205.101 (talk) 05:33, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of interesting notes concerning Jimmie Skinner[edit]

I have had opportunity to read information on Jimmie Skinner in the Talk Page. As it is a "talk page", it should remain as an ongoing one. I am quite dismayed to find that information had been removed concerning my dad, Jimmie Skinner. Some of the information was obviously written by readers who knew him & it should not have been removed. I am requesting that the information remain as many of his fans obviously go to this site to read about him in Wiki even though he passed away in 2007. Incidentally,my dad's name is "Jimmie" but as previously mentioned in one of the talk posts which had been deleted, & which was written by my brother, who is also named "Jimmie", it should be corrected. He was correct in saying that my dad never bothered to correct people who used "Jimmy". That was the type of person he was. Regards, Karen Skinner. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.200.48.56 (talk) 19:05, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Talk pages are not for talking about the subject, they are for organizing and discussion writing of the article. Please see WP:NOTAFORUM. All of the posts were quite clearly created by one or two people (and looking at the IPs of the edits they all look like they were you.) and were very clearly being used as a way to promote the subject to try and get them into the hall of fame. That is not appropriate for a wikipedia page. -DJSasso (talk) 12:19, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

mistaken information[edit]

You are quite mistaken in your information whoever you are. I hv edited some of the errors but I hv not input the notes you are referring to. In any event, they should remain as was. k. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.200.71.253 (talk) 17:55, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Petty people[edit]

Who ever you are,Sasso or what ever your name is.Are you that insensed that you can't allow a few people to pay tribute to someone they admired. My father would have said let it go-move on,people of your nature are not worth the time.Consentrate on people that make a difference.Jimmie Skinner Jr. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.41.205.101 (talk) 17:23, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

incorrect spelling of first name[edit]

My Father's first name is constantly being spelled incorrectly. His name is "Jimmie" not "Jimmy". Please correct or show both. My dad was a very humble person & just didn't bother to correct anyone who spelled it wrong. IT IS "JIMMIE". THX. Karen Skinner (daughter)

Update & correct[edit]

Jimmie skinner also won the memorial cup in 1962/63 with Hamilton red wings & also coached 3 nhl all star games. Also instrumental in starting the nhl draft. Why is this information not shown? 2605:8D80:464:A0E1:5442:B147:6A40:FA68 (talk) 20:49, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
